3mm foam headliner
A drooping car ceiling is one of the most common interior complaints, and 3mm foam headliner fabric is a popular way to fix it. The thin foam layer, roughly 1/8 inch thick, gives the fabric enough body to hide small dents and imperfections in the headliner board. It is also thin enough to follow curves around dome lights, visors and grab handles.
Why Choose 3mm Foam Backed Headliner Fabric
Over time, the original foam in many headliners breaks down. Once that happens, the face fabric separates and sags. Replacing it with a fresh foam backed headliner fabric restores that soft, finished look.
What to Look For
- Backing: A scrim or knit backing on the foam helps the adhesive grip and keeps the fabric from stretching out of shape.
- Face fabric: Knit and brushed textures stretch well over contours, which makes installation more forgiving.
- Color: Match your existing trim, or choose a new shade to refresh the whole cabin.
- Yardage: Measure your headliner board and add extra for wrapping the edges.
Beyond the Car Roof
This auto roof liner fabric also works well for visors, door panels, RV and boat ceilings, and craft projects that need a soft padded surface.
